Vintage Chinese Export Green JADE Sterling Silver Repousse Bangle Bracelet. Beautiful jade and sterling silver hinged bangle bracelet in great antique estate condition. The metal is marked SILVER on the inside at the hinge. The silver is gold washed with a rich patina. The jade is mint green. The jade measures 10.6mm thick, the bangle measures 2.4 in diameter. The entire piece weighs 56 grams. Clasp, with sterling silver safety chain, in excellent working condition.

On offer is this lovely Vintage Chinese Export Silver Repousse Pill or Jewelry Box featuring high relief repousse work in the shape of a leaf with a raised stalk on the domed lid with scrolls on the edge of the lid and beautiful repousse flowers entwined around the body of this box. The workmanship in this box is extraordinary and is a fine example of the wonderful silver pieces that were exported from China. Many wealthy people had items like this made for them which often took weeks or months to finish and not many of these silver pieces have survived, hence, vintage and antique Chinese export silver is now highly sought after by collectors. In very good condition for it’s great age with no damage but there are age related scratches to the base of the box as shown in the photo. Hallmarked silver with another hallmark that is worn down so I cannot read it. Made of Chinese 800 Silver. Measures 1.75 inches in diameter x 1.5 inches high. A fabulous addition to your collection.

FINE QUALITY CHINESE HALLMARKED SILVER TRINKET / RING BOX. With SUPERB REPOUSSE DRAGONS. This is a stunning. Quality Chinese silver trinket / ring box which dates, I’d guess, from the late 19th. To the early 20th. Century and was made by, again a guess, Wang Hing I can’t quite make out the mark. See photographs and details. It is depicted with superb repousse decoration to all sides of an intricately hand embossed. It is gilded to its interior and is marked to the inner right-hand collar with the maker’s stamp – again see photographs and details. It measures 4 3/4 (12cm) L. X 1 1/2″ (4cm) W x 1 1/4″ (3.25cm) H approx; and is in excellent condition with no defect at all to report, apart from very light wear consistent with its age. This is a beautiful superior quality period silver box that’s in superb condition and with a low start price should get considerable interest. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE. Chinese Export Sterling Silver Double Skinned Repousse Chrysanthemum Box

Chinese Export Sterling Silver Double Skinned Repousse Prunus Box. Marked simply as Sterling Silver?? And seemingly without artisan or retail mark, this elegant repousse double skinned hinged lid Chrysanthemum box is a very good example of the quality workmanship expected of such items in the early periods of the Chinese export trade. The hinged lid is emblazoned with repousse work of Chrysanthemums in flower thrusting from the earth above a small mound positioned starkly against a chased stippled background. Chrysanthemums, which symbolize happiness and vitality, are a popular flower in Chinese history, carrying special significance during lunar new year celebrations. The four sides are decorated with repousse garlands against a continuation of the stippled background chasing. The decoration is superbly finished and while intricate in parts, overall understated with the Artisan’s design confidently allowing space for the embellishments to “grow” which, in our opinion, adds gravitas to the piece. The box opens to a beautifully planished silver double skinned interior polished to a mirror like sheen. This delightful, hinged Chrysanthemum box is likely such an example of early double skin silver and would perhaps have been made for the western market in the earlier days of the Chinese Export silver period. The lack of artisan and retail marks but with the inclusion of the “Sterling” silver purity character mark might suggest a foreign target market. Of 12cm x 8.7cm x 4.2cm in size and weighing approximately 330g this delightful box presents in particularly good antique condition with some slight denting to the exterior and scratching evident to the interior and base of the box. While these issues do not detract significantly from the piece and are in fact indicative of the fineness of the silver and delicate nature of the workmanship they are nonetheless reflected in the price. This auspicious Chrysanthemum double skinned hinged lid box is a fine example of Chinese Export silver design and will delight even the fussiest silver collector and represents a rare opportunity to secure a fine example of Chinese craftsmanship. A large Chinese or South Asian octagonal silver box. Late Qing dynasty, most probably around 1900. Convex lid finely decorated with repousse and engraved wine foliage and grapes.
