Cigarette Case – Chinese Export – Repousse design of a dragon and the moon. Chinese hallmark is present. I tried to research the hallmark but came up with nothing. Perhaps you’ll have better luck. The motif is enchanting-a dragon coiled under a full moon. Measures about 4″ x 3″ x 3/8 thick. Weight: 3.53 ozt (100 grams).

Antique Chinese export sterling silver cigarette business card case with original box. Weighs 120.8 grams for sterling (without wood box). Stamped STERLING and maker’s mark in Chinese. Seems never been used. Case push opens and snap closes as it should. Hammered front and back surfaces. Etched dragon on the front. Gilt interior is intact. Wood box has imperfections but works fine. The latch and two hinges are intact but the fabric that connects the lid and base is partially torn. This is a super rare finding for a Chinese export sterling silver cigarette case in mint condition with original retail box.

Chinese silver enamel jade / aventurine dragon ashtray cigarette holder & box

It separates into 4 parts. The bottom, dragon head, is the ashtray. Then a base for the cylinder, then the cylinder for cigarettes, then the lid. The inside is washed with gold (gold tone, not sure if actual gold). The lid is topped with a graceful bird (crane I think). It is marked SILVER on the bottom. The piece all together measures about 9 inches tall. The base is about 6 1/2 inches long from head of dragon to tail of dragon. Comes in beautiful fabric lined original box. I have not cleaned this piece. A few minor condition issues: 2 stones missing on lid, slight bend on metal edge, slight dent on lid which is hard to see except for on close inspection (I have used the ruler to point to the side on which the slight dent can be found). The jade looks like it has vein or crack (stable, does not move at all). This is a stunning piece. It was a gift from in-laws of my sister who traveled the world years ago. I do not know the age (maybe 19th or early 20th C) but guess it was an export piece. Please see photos and let me know if you have any questions.

Pao Chu is a well known silversmith from TIENTSIN, China, specialized in making sterling silver cigarette cases. No dings, dents or monogram. Case push opens and snap closes as it should. Etched oriental scenes on the front with trees, pagodas, houses and people.

A Chinese export silver rectangular cigar box, engraved with dragons on a finely textured and hammered ground, with a hinged cover and cedar wood lining. It retains old retailer’s labels. The box is in very good condition, with the expected wear consistent with age and use. It presents a few light scratches at the bottom and one small dig. The box sits well.
