Fabulous Set Chinese Export Mid-1800s Silver Napkin Rings with Original Box

Presented is a fabulous set of 4 Chinese export silver napkin rings in the original box. The set is from the mid-1800s, circa 1845 to 1870s. The box is a highly decorated lacquered wood with gilding that displays a genre scene with men standing among trees and a small building. The inside has painted decoration on pith paper and 4 compartments for the napkin rings. The silver napkin rings displays 3 hand-chased genre scenes of men with a deer surrounded by trees. One scene has a small oval cartouche above it with no monograms. This set is in excellent overall condition, especially considering age. The napkin rings have some wear to the high points, especially the faces. The box has some flaking to the paint and a few chips in the wood on the corners. There are no breaks and no repairs. Have for sale an antique late 19th or early 20th Century sterling silver etched Dragon lidded box by Nanking Chinese Export. The box measures 4 3/8″ length, 3 1/8″ wide and 2 height. It is marked Nanking and other Chinese marks. It has been 100% tested for Sterling Silver or even higher silver content. No dings or dents. No damage or repair. Engraved OK in fancy letters in the middle of the lid. Lid closes nicely and securely. Gilt interior with some tarnish. It has a Dragon etched all the way around it and also on the lid. A rare Chinese sterling dragon box in great condition and nice size. Useful, displayable and presentable.

A Chinese export silver rectangular cigar box, engraved with dragons on a finely textured and hammered ground, with a hinged cover and cedar wood lining. It retains old retailer’s labels. The box is in very good condition, with the expected wear consistent with age and use. It presents a few light scratches at the bottom and one small dig. The box sits well.
