If items are clearly marked, we do not have it acid tested, especially if markings include designers markings. Unmarked items we have tested. If natural hairline internal cracks in stones, loose settings (that normally happen over the years) bother you, or expect perfect, then you do not want Vintage. Even jewelry that is brand new tends to have flaws. This is all Antique Art Deco/Nouveau, Victorian, Vintage and newer Collectible jewelry, all newer items have been stored and are still part of the humongous estate collection and may have been worn, but minimally. Silver jewelry with stones sometimes loosen over the years, and stones shift and accumulate hairline cracks. This is part of the charm of vintage jewelry. Anything distracting we will note in our listings, anything damaged we do not list. This one dates to late 1800s, early 1900s. Antique hinged snuff/opium box/pit. It appears to be silver over a brass metal? There is one small marking that well try to give a close up picture. The lid and bottom have a painted enamel Asian scene, Chinese figures, ones side appears to be a man and the other a woman, but that is what we see. It is round and 1 ½ inches in diameter, it stands slightly over ½ inch high, weighs 14.6g. For its age it looks very good, has enamel wear but that should certainly be expected. Some tarnishing or wear on the silver but this would be a fabulous find for any collection! We will let the pictures give a much better description. It is a rare find. Has been part of an estate collection and a very unique piece. Take a look at pictures! All condition of items are nice and may only need a gentle cleaning due to dust from not being worn or stored away for quite a few years. Antique 19th Century rare Chinese Solid Silver large box, of rectangular form, decorated in repousse’ high relief, on very finely tooled matted ground, depicting various figures in a landscape, including fighting warriors, dignitaries, attendants amongst palaces, pavilions and a military procession along the sides. The box is particularly large, heavy and very well crafted, by one of the most rare and outstanding silversmiths at the time. Remarkable Rare Large Antique Chinese Porcelain Qing Pottery Shard Silver Box. The color’s are absolutely stunning! Wonderful busy market or festival scene with 11 figures in beautiful & detailed costumes with gold accents. Measures 7-3/4″ Long X 5-3/4″ Wide X 2-3/8 Tall at highest point. The large pottery shard is curved & seems to be 1/2 thick. The silver box & porcelain shard are not perfect. There are three flaws I could see in pottery a chipped area on bottom left where silver frame meets (bottom edge green mountain/trees) Small area of paint loss under top most center figure’s left hand (pink wall) One scratch in lower right corner (white area) where it meets edge of silver frame. Also silver box needs a polish & lid is not formed precisely, Fits over bottom & stays in place but has some dents & is slightly misshaped. For sale here is an EXQUISITE vintage 1940s 50s handmade Chinese Export silver filigree nature scene design lidded and footed box. Entirely laboriously and gloriously handmade! Incredible detail especially in the nature scene at top of two ducks amongst plants in the water. Measures 6″ by 3-5/8″ by 2 tall and weighs 326.7 grams or about 10-1/2 troy ounces. Marked “Silver” at bottom, tested and is the standard 900 silver most commonly used in Chinese silver items. This box was given at coat of clear lacquer to prevent tarnish when new, and has survived very well with just fine light wear and some fine tarnish here and there. I’ve been in the vintage/collectible business for over 35 years. I’m on the list of advisers for both the second and third editions of Warman’s Jewelry by the late great Christie Romero. I know little about this interesting and intricately detailed silver box. It appears to be Chinese, but I don’t know for sure because I don’t know the mark, however, it might be from another Asian country, perhaps, Vietnam. The maker’s mark is on the back. It does test for silver, I don’t know the silver content. This box weighs approximately 123.7 grams or 4.36 ounces. It measure approximately 4″ by 3 1/2″.
