Vietnamese silver box, late 19th century. Rectangular with straight sides. Cover flat and hinged. Box sides have embossed blossoming branches, bamboo, and bird; engraved leaves and flowers at corners. Cover top has embossed slithering, scaly dragons with horns and talons in same frame; blossoming branches at corners. Maker’s mark for Guang Qing Yong. Dimensions: H 3 1/2 x W 6 1/4 x D 4 1/8 in. Superb Chinese Export Warrior Scene Silver Card Case, CumWo? A really wonderful premium quality Chinese export silver card case with battles scenes finely embossed all over the body. The top of the cover with circular (faintly) initialled cartouche between grapevines. Condition generally very good – one small split to inside rim of body (see photo), typical light wear to the faces of the characters. Needs a good clean. Marks underside rubbed but looks like’C? In a rectangle – the options I believe are Cutshing, CumWo or Cumshing – all prominent and highly regarded retailers of the period. Dimensions: 8.3 x 5.7 x 1.5cm.

Offered for your consideration is a signed pair of Chinese export small vessels. They are possibly salt and pepper shakers or meant for opium or snuff. The tops are removable. They consist of a lid and an interior screen. They date to the late 19th or early 20th century. The vessels are in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with one top wire detached at one side. Otherwise, there is light edge wear, fine and light indentations and bends here and there, fine and light surface scratches and scuffing here and there, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. This fine antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) cigarette box has a plain reCtangular form with rounded corners. The surface of the body of the box is plain with an applied moulded border to the rim. The subtly domed hinged cover of the box is ornamented with contemporary engraved monograph initials in addition to a moulded border to the rim. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese Export silver box; an addition to our collection of boxes and cases. This exceptional antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) cigarette box has a plain rectangular form. The surface of the body is encompassed with an applied, large undulating oriental Chinese dragon design, all in high relief. This antique silver box is fitted with a silver and cedar wood lined hinged cover. The upper plateau of the cover is ornamented with a further large coiling dragon design accented with impressive emanating whiskers, incorporating a circular vacant cartouche to the centre. The surface of the box and cover has a textured finish, with plain borders to each side. The body of this fine Chinese silver box retains the original cedar wood lining; by virtue of its size this versatile box could be used for a multitude of functions. The box features a solid silver base which is plain and unembellished, apart from the feature hallmarks; a solid silver base is a sign of quality. The hallmarks struck to the underside of this fine box include. Silver quality/purity mark: 85 (85 standard, 850/1000). (DA XIN GONG SI; The Sun Company Department Store Company).
