Antique TUCK CHANG c. 1900 Chinese Export Sterling Silver Hallmarked & Stamped TC, Lot of (2) Match Box Covers, one High-content Silver & the other a Cloissonne Copper Cover with Original Antique French Match Boxes, amazing find! (obviously a gift many years ago, easily removed with polishing, I do not clean my items I leave this to others to decide). These have not been fully polished and yet it has such a mirror-finish, that’s the high silver-content involved here. The other matchbox cover is cloisonne made of copper. Both have the authentic French matchboxes included (both quite old), along with original matchsticks. One match box has a wooden lining, both are incredible alone. These are sincerely wonderful forgive my poor photography, please take a second look here. This estate sale was a’once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity, these pieces are perfect for collectors, not found very often, seriously. The silver content & copper alone have permanent monetary value. Antique Chinese Opium Accessories Dross Box, Silver Mixing Spoon

Antique Chinese Opium Accessories: Dross Box, Silver Mixing Spoon. Two very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing Chinese Antique Opium Accessories. Mixing Spoon is comprised of multiple materials with ornate decorations carved into the metal. Handle has a wonderful patina from extensive use and is most likely a type of material the Chinese used in higher class items during the 1700 and 1800 hundreds. The end of the handle is Silver with flower pattern etched into the end. The base of the Handle has 3 rows of Sho symbols in Silver encompassing the handle. The bowl portion is likely a silver alloy with a face carving on the underside. This spoon was likely used to “cook” liquid opium over an opium lamp so that it could be further manipulated and smoked. This spoon has normal condition issues for this old of an item. See pictures for exact condition. It was probably manufactured in the late 1700’s to early 1800’s. Exact date cannot be determined. A small repair is clearly visible on the side of the box. See pictures for exact condition of the item. A dross box was used to hold the ash scrapings from inside opium pipes and bowls after their use. Over time, these scrapings were collected and processed for sale or to add to new batches of pure opium. In Chinese culture the bat often represents luck, happiness and good fortune. These items are both beautiful and rare. Most authentic opium items were completely destroyed during the late 1800’s and 1900’s during eradication campaigns occurring in China as well as the rest of the world. Only a relatively small portion of these items made it through these eradication campaigns, and are therefore highly prized and collectible. This fine antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) cigarette/card case has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners. The anterior cover is embellished with an embossed and chased decorated iconic Chinese dragon design amidst clouds, on a matte background, incorporating a shield shaped vacant cartouche. The posterior cover is ornamented with traditional embossed and chased plum blossom foliate and floral decoration, also on a matte background. The rounded sides of this antique silver cigarette case are plain and unembellished. This silver cigarette / card case is fitted with a push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments. This Chinese silver cigarette case retains the original gilded interior. The hallmarks struck to the catch of this impressive case include. Makers mark: Zee Wo. This antique case is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. The embossed and chased decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the catch are all very clear, however we are unable to produce an image due to the difficult placement of these hallmarks. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese Export Silver and enamel box / canister; an addition to our oriental silver boxes collection. This exceptional antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) canister / box has a hexafoil shaped form. The surface of this double skinned antique Chinese box is embellished with overlaid filigree mesh panels with plain solid silver borders to each incurve, in addition to the upper and lower rims. Each panel is ornamented with an applied oriental plum blossom branch accented with floral and bird designs, all accented with enamel details. The ornamentation to the body incorporates an array of alternating collet set agate and coral gemstones. This Chinese silver box retains the original push fit gem set, bulbous cover embellished with further filigree and enamel work identical to that of the body. The Chinese silver and enamel box cover is surmounted with an exceptional filigree ball style finial accented with a coral gemstone to the upper portion and featuring a flared lobed, filigree terminal. The cover opens to reveal the cylindrical chamber of the canister/box. Antique Deco Chinese 900 Silver Box Tack Hing Sterling

This is a 90% Silver Antique Chinese box from about 1920. It is 3 1/2 ” deep, 3″ wide, 1 3/4 tall and weighs 143.7 grams or 4.62 troy oz. It is stamped Tack Hing, 90% Silver with the makers mark on the bottom. It is in very good condition, no dents and very minor scratches, mostly on the bottom. An interesting design with Deco inspired steps on the sides on either side of the hinge. It is stamped on the top with a vine edge and fine dappling inside this.
