A Fine & Important 19th c. Chinese Export Filigree Silver Card Case w Dragons
An extremely fine Chinese filigree export silver possibly. 950 silver card case adorned with dragons, probably made in Canton c. This piece is nothing short of spectacular and incorporates various types of silver work. The attention to detail is rather incredible and actually rather difficult to photograph because of its fineness. There are no other Chinese filigree cases that even approach this quality that I’ve found online. The exact maker is of yet unknown, but can probably be attributed based on the master workmanship. Remarkably, the case is in excellent condition particularly when considering its age and highly delicate nature. The case was initially acquired in Europe during the 1970’s, and it measures approximately 3 7/8″ x 2 5/8″. The item “A Fine & Important 19th c.
