This fine antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) box has a cylindrical form. The surface of the body is embellished with a fine and impressive embossed decorated iconic Chinese dragon design. This antique Chinese silver box is fitted with the original push fit cover ornamented with a further dragon design encircling a central vacant circular cartouche. This antique box retains the original gilded interior. The hallmarks struck to the underside of this fine box include. Makers mark:WH (Wang Hing). Silver quality/purity mark: 90 (90 standard, 900/1000). This Chinese box is a exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The embossed decoration is very sharp. There are some natural fire marks to the surface of the box, in keeping with age. The hallmarks struck to the surface of the underside of the box are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware. Chinese Export Octagonal Silver Trinket Box
Chinese Export Silver Octagonal Trinket Box. This delightful Chinese export lidded silver trinket box with repeating floral motif is marked Zu Yin (pure silver) and, while the artisan character mark is somewhat worn, is believed to be that of Heng Chang (also known as Hung Chong) a rarely encountered mark of an artisan who operated in Canton between 1860 to 1920. Heng Chang was an independent artisan but also known to work with retailers such as Wang Hing with the mark found from time to time on items marked without retail mark such as with this example. This box is 5cm wide and 3cm high with the lid fitting securely. The repeating floral and geometric repousse motifs are simple yet stylish and set within panels on each side of the octagonal box. Weighing 44.8g the piece presents in good antique condition with some wear and scratching noticeable but is reflected in the price. A delightful Chinese silver box from an iconic maker and certainly worthy of inclusion in any silver or silver box collection.

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese export silver box; an addition to our range of silver boxes and cases. This exceptional antique Chinese Silverbox has a rectangular form onto four bracket style feet. The surface of the body is embellished with impressive embossed and chased bamboo stalk decoration, all on a matte background. This organic decoration is flanked with bands of rope twist decoration and applied moulded borders. This antique box is fitted with a solid silver hinged cover, featuring further applied moulded decoration to the rim. The plateau of the cover is embellished with an exceptional bordered panel depicting further embossed and chased bamboo stalk designs in addition to oriental floral and foliate decoration, all on a matte background. This silver box is supported with four impressive bracket style feet, ornamented with a simplifiedfoliate design. The interior of this impressive box retains the original gilding. The hallmarks struck to the underside of this fine box include. Silver quality/purity mark: 90 (900/1000). Maker’s mark: LH (Luen Hing).
