LOVELY ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY CHINESE CARVED CIRCULAR GAMING BOX SIGNED. & 9 MOTHER of PEARL GAMING COUNTERS. This is a Lovely Antique 19th Century Chinese Carved Ciruclar Gaming Box (signed) with Mother of Pearl Gaming Counters , this Box was Crafted circa 1870 making this wonderful Box over 150 years old, this stunning box has been carved with do much detailing from the amazing figures to the top, one gentleman is standing as though in conversation with the other gentleman who is sitting down, you will also see so much detailing from the foliage, blossom tree to the wonderful pagoda, the top has a slight dome shape which is created with the intricate carving, to the side on the screw off top it also has a delicate dotted decoration, the body of this wonderful gaming box had the most beautiful rural village scene with carved tree, houses and foliage, to the base you will also see a very pretty carved flower, this gaming box is signed to the inside the lid , the gaming tokens have a delicate engraved design, some of the token seem a little stuck inside, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this stunning 19th century Gaming Box would have once belonged to a wealthy Victorian Gentleman and used often in a time many years ago. Antique & Vintage Jewellery. Very Nice Antique Victorian 1900 Solid Silver Carved Chinese Mother Of Pearl Sbuff Box. Some items may require a light clean. The fine antique late Victorian solid silver box is in very good condition for its age. The box has a wonderful Chinese carved mother of pearl panel inserted into the top. The carving is very nice. The box opens and closes fine, some slight age wear with a small gap. The box has some scratching which is quite typical. The inside of the box is relatively clean with a silver gilt finish. Very unusual snuff box. Weight:- The item is approx 53.2 grams. Hallmarks:- The item has the passant for silver. Chester assay and date letter for 1900. The makers marks are slightly rubbed but can be made out for M Friedlander & Co. Measurements:- The item is approx. 6.8cm long x 2.8cm x 2.1cm high. FINE QUALITY STUNNING RARE EDWARDIAN CHINESE DRAGON CARVED LADIES CIGARETTE HOLDER. This is a very Beautiful Rare Edwardian Chinese Dragon Carved Ladies Cigarette Holder, i would estimate a date of circa 1910 making this holder over 100 years old. This rare cigarette holder is carved to half of the body with the most intricate detailing of a Chines Dragon, take a look at the photos you can even see the dragons eyes, he is beautiful, his scaled body wraps itself around the entire holder with t the most wonderful detailed claws, its breath taking, the other half of the holder has a smooth finish giving it a timeless elegance of the Edwardian period, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a very wealthy Edwardian lady many years ago when times were so very different, this is 5 inches in length so would have been used at dinner parties, you can just picture the elegance of the time back in the Edwardian period, if this could talk i can just imagine what fascinating stories it could tell, this is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel. This will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice. The condition is nice with no damage to the carving. It is lovely condition. The cigarette holder began it’s prominence all the way back in the later 1700’s, as a way for leftover tobacco to be used. The tobacco would be wrapped into paper and would connect to a device to create this cigarette of discarded tobacco pieces. This is a beautiful 19th Century Chinese Cinnabar Lacquer Circular Bowl, i believe it to be Qing Dynasty, 19th century, , the curved sides of this wonderful bowl has been carved with the most beautiful layered and raised flowers and foliage, this is set against an intricately carved fret and diamond like ground, all this sits upon a low pedestal foot, the interior and base have been finished with a pale blue lacquer covering , 11 cm diameter, and 1.5 inches height, its is in lovely condition with just a little wear to the edge on the base and top edge over the years, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a very wealthy family and sat proud of place on there table, if this could talk i can just imagine what fascinating stories they could tell, it is so very tactile and once held has the most wonderful feel.
