This exceptional antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) card case has a rectangular shaped form. The anterior surface of this Wang Hing card case is ornamented with an impressive chased decorated iconic Chinese dragon design accented with stylised cloud decoration, all on a matte background. The ornamentation incorporates a vacant shield shaped cartouche. The posterior surface of this antique card case is embellished with impressive bamboo stalk designs, also all on a matte background. The sides of this antique silver case are ornamented with a simplified stemmed floral design. This Chinese card case is fitted with a push fit cover ornamented with a continuation of the aforementioned chased decoration. The hallmarks struck to the underside of this fine silver case include. Maker’s mark: WH (Wang Hing). Silver quality/purity mark: 90 (90 standard, 900/1000). This exceptional example of Chinese silverware is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.
