CHINESE EXPORT SILVER BOX CARD CASE c1850 KHECHEONG – 14 FIGURES. An unusually fine, c1850 Chinese export silver card case. From the Canton workshop of Khecheong. Lower cover with beautifully hand carved hunting scene, hunter on horseback with bow. Attendant on foot fleeing deer in forest, above warriors in battle. Opposite side elder seated in garden with attendant, above couple in garden, maiden with fan. Sides with additional figures. Top with oval shield framed in classic grape and leaf, one of the very earliest. Chinese export silver design motifs (See Forbes text). In very fine condition. Appears almost as new, even after 170 years. Retains original detail, including most all of the facial detail. To the many figures. The very fine and rare c1850 Chinese export silver fourteen figure card case is 3 3/4 inches. By 2 1/2 inches. And weighs 3 1/2 standard ounces. Hallmarked as shown, well struck.
