RARE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER JEWELRY BOX ORIG. STAND REPOUSSE DECOR + KEY SND 1860. Wonderful, antique Chinese export solid silver jewelry box on stand – circa 1860. The rectangular box with a hinged lid resting on the original silver stand with chased feet. The entire surface of the box and lid are decorated in hand-chased repousse technique creating pastoral scenes of villages, lakes, boats, pagodas, trees and human figures – work quality is superb, highly detailed and very attractive. The box is padded inside with wood showing beautiful grain. It is hallmarked, on the bottom with Chinese characters and a maker’s mark – box comes with the ORIGINAL key that works and the lock works well. Excellent condition for the age with no losses or restorations – 2 very small indentations at 2 of the top corners – we have taken many pictures so please examine all. It measures 15 cm wide x 11 cm deep x 8.5 cm tall, on the stand – box only is 5.6 cm tall – total weight is 720.2 grams. AGE & AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED.
