A Rare old Chinese Gold gilt solid silver enameled figural Owl shape Tea Caddy box jar. This has semi precious stones encircling the top body. Looks like Lapis, Turquoise and Carnelaian inset into a mesh solid silver design of various gorgeous enamel colors. The shiny gold gilt work on top of solid better than coin silver Silver and figural body with wings and many shades of color throughout the body. The eyes are semi precious stones and can be cats eye or something even more rare. Strong beak and eyelashes. This is a very old piece and stands 15 1/2 cm tall x 11cm wide or 5 1/4″ tall x 4″ and weighs 14.4 standard ounces of solid silver or 410 grams. Is marked on the bottom “Silver” Nice weight and in good condition with the exception of a few carnelian stones seen at the top of the head, a few small hard to spot enamel misses, a tiny bit of silver mesh gone from the inside of a wing down below and a small bump at the very base of the bird.
