The Emperors always feared their enemies were going to assassinate them an so food poisoning was one of those things feared. And silver will turn color when in contact with poisonous chemicals. RARE Antique Chinese Brass or Copper Floral Engraved Box Carved Jade

Listed is a Chinese bronze/brass box with engraved floral decoration. Green and White Jade/Jadeite flower carving in the center. Box is either brass or bronze with silver wash inside and is in preowned condition (as pictured). Measurements: 33mm x 30.5mm x 8.5mm (not including center stone), with stone its 11.5mm in thickness when closed. Stone tested as Jadeite/Jade. Total Combined Weight is 14.1 Grams. Marked inside with “China and Makers Name” Please see pictures included.

Details: A fantastic and wonderfully designed antique Victorian Chinese sterling silver floral etched snuff box or pill box with lovely detailing hallmarked to the interior possibly made in Nanking c1880. This is a wonderful item that would make a perfect gift or addition to any collection. The BOX pictured is for PRESENTATION ONLY and is NOT included in the listings but used to frame the pictures unless specifically stated otherwise. Condition Report: The item is in good condition, all our items are quality conditioned prior to listings however some may have age related signs of wear commensurate with their antique status; please refer to the photos provided as they further inform condition.
