Presented is a gorgeous Chinese export silver youth flatware set in the original box. The box is a highly decorated lacquered and gilded and displays a genre scene of men standing in an open square between buildings. There are two highly detailed figures on either side of the scene. The 3 silver pieces are very heavy and thick. All three have a full figural decoration on the front. The knife also has this robed figure on the reverse as well. All of this decoration is hand carved out of the silver. These pieces are heavy and quite thick. The reverse of the spoon and fork and the sides of the knife are finely hand engraved. The set is from the mid-1800s, 1845 to 1865. The silver set displays a beaded edge and fancy hand engraved leaf decorations. There is a figure in high relief on each handle. The underside of each piece is marked with the maker’s mark LC for Leeching. The set is tests as 900 purity silver. This set is in great overall condition. Most of the pattern decorations are well-defined but the faces of the figures have worn. There is a slight bend on the end and rough spots on the side of the knife blade. The fork has a slight bend in the shaft. All of the wear to the flatware is minor.
