A Fine Chinese export round silver box with chased design of dragons, heavenly clouds and flowers. Excellent weight, quality and condition. In super collectors condition with no damage or repair and minimal wear. Chinese character mark to base, Chinese export c 1890. BEAUTIFUL RARE SOLID SILVER CHINESE GAMING TOKEN TOPPED SNUFF BOX c1950

A beautiful solid silver trinket of snuff box. It is hallmarked with two small touch marks and tests as high grade silver. I would date it to the mid 20th century although its lid has been mounted with a very finely engraved 19th century Chinese gaming token. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs and the token is free from chips cracks and repairs. The lid closes tightly to form a good seal. It measures 2.75 inches (6.9cms) wide by over 1 inch (3cms) by 0.75 inches tall and weighs 50 grams. A beautifully made interesting example. Beautiful Antique 19th Century Carved Chinese Cinnabar Lacquer Bowl

BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY CARVED CHINESE CINNABAR LACQUER BOWL. This is a beautiful 19th Century Chinese Cinnabar Lacquer Circular Bowl, i believe it to be Qing Dynasty, 19th century, , the curved sides of this wonderful bowl has been carved with the most beautiful layered and raised flowers and foliage, this is set against an intricately carved fret and diamond like ground, all this sits upon a low pedestal foot, the interior and base have been finished with a pale blue lacquer covering , 11 cm diameter, and 1.5 inches height, its is in lovely condition with just a little wear to the edge on the base and top edge over the years, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, this would have once belonged to a very wealthy family and sat proud of place on there table, if this could talk i can just imagine what fascinating stories they could tell, it is so very tactile and once held has the most wonderful feel. This will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice. Lovely, as per above. Beautiful Rare Chinese Carved Louis XVI French Billet Doux Love Letter Holder

BEAUTIFUL RARE CHINESE CARVED LOUIS XVI FRENCH BILLET DOUX – LOVE LETTER HOLDER. Piece of fine 18th century LOUIS XVI French Billet Doux : Love Letter Holder. This is a beautiful Georgian 18th Century carved and crafted Louis XVI Billet Doux- Love letter Holder, this wonderful example. I believe to be crafted in China for the French court of the 18th Century, I estimate this dates to circa 1770 making it over 245 years old. This Chinese Carved French billet doux is of such beauty and elegance, the carving is embellished with birds and snakes that run all around the body of the Billet Doux so much work has gone into the crafting of this extremely rare 18th century Billet Doux – Love letter holder. It would of certainly have carried the love letters of someone from among the Courtiers of Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI’s era or shortly there after. A very romantic item, the billet doux was the etui into which a rolled scroll of a love letter might be passed along or hand delivered by one’s servant. A courier’s envelope of sorts, these became so associated with the intimate love notes carried within, that today the term is itself a romantic one. This elegant Billet Doux is superb; the quality of the craftsmanship is breathtaking. These came in a myriad of forms, many survive and we see them in museums around the world. This one could well be on display in the Musee des Arts Decoratif in the Louvre inParis, where many similar etui fascinate visitors every day. Condition: lovely condition with a couple of very faint hairline cracks (Please see photos) also a tiny chip on the base, that being said it doesnt detract at all from its rare beauty, just mentioned for accuracy. The Billet Doux, Literally a sweet note, it is the term for a love letter, essentially and often rolled and sent by courier inside a beautiful tube like the one on offer here for sale, the tube is itself known as a billet doux for this reason, used in many centuries. An unquestionably exquisite and fine addition for any uncompromising collector or as a display piece. Please study the photos as these form an integral part of the description.
