This is a Rare Stunning Victorian Exquisite Chinese Export Sandal Wood Carved Elephant and Animals Scene Card Case, this i believe was carved c1870 making it around 151 years old this is a Stunning Chinese Export Sandal Wood Card Case with a nice Dark Shade to the Sandal Wood, it has a Beautiful Rectangle Shape around the Outside. On the front and the back it has the most highly Detailed Carved Scene of an Elephant waring a Blanket on its back with other Animals all around, and all this in a Floral Setting, the Carving to this Case is the highly detailed and amazing and the carving goes around the edges of the Case, the Elephant and what looks like a Wolf and Birds seem to be interacting with each other and the Quality of the Carving in Superb, i have never seen any of these Chinese Sandal Wood Card Cases with an Elephant before, the Lid has a nice tight fit and the inner neck of the Case is in good condition, the condition of this Case is very good, this would have been owned by someone Wealthy in the Victorian Period when times were very different to today.
