PRETTY CHINESE EXPORT SILVER SNUFF BOX ANTIQUE c1880 MK CANTON ANTIQUE
A beautiful Chinese export silver snuff box. It is hallmarked with a Chinese character and the makers mark MK, unregistered but found on pieces that date to the late 19th century. I would date it to c1880 – it tests as high grade silver. It has been beautifully made being engraved with leaves and gilded inside. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, the lid fits tightly. It measures a touch over 1.5 inches (4.2cms) wide by approx. 0.5 inches tall by over 1 inch front to back (2.7cms) and weighs 26 grams. A rare high quality piece.
