Of oval form, Chinese low grade silver pierced cricket lock-box circa 1930s, a good example of Chinese traditional pierced workmanship with Cherry blossoms & exotic birds design, set against spider net background, with running cherry blossoms and birds motif to box’s walls with opposite design to each side. The box accommodated with elaborate’C’ shape handle with rope style top design. The cover closes with diamond form clip. Overall very good condition, no dents nor damage to the pierced design, slight marking, scratches, hinge moves to the side due to minor bent to nail tube (still, the lid is secure and closes properly), net design atop of cover has one broken link. Marked: Chinese character mark, Item tested with 14k & 18k acid, 18k acid on the stone gives positive reaction, 14k acid gives neutral to negative reaction when applied directly to metal due to a higher concentration of other metals such as copper, zinc, brass.
