Shaped as an egg with acanthus rising from base. Both base and hinged cover with all over royal chrysanthemum. Sprays in various stages of bloom set atop stippled surfaces. Top with flower petal framed loop for attaching to sash when traveling. The rare Chinese export silver travel sewing box. Is 2 1/2 inches and a bit over 1 1/2 standard ounces.
