I took it to my jeweler who believes it has is made of nickel bronze alloy. It is a heavy and decorative item with a rolled relief embossed pattern and image that appears to be from China or the Middle East. The round knobs are threaded and screw in place. The lid fits nicely. The image of 2 monkeys on a limb are on each side. This is a special piece of art. A great display piece. A bit of history. Measurements are approximately 12″ x 11″ x 4.
