RARE ANTIQUE CHINESE EROTIC GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE IN ORIGINAL BOX. This is a rare Antique Chinese Erotic Glass Snuff Box in Original Box, The Glass snuff Bottle has the most stunning Erotic scenes to both sides of the bottle as you can see, to the base of this rare Chinese Snuff Bottle you can see the pontil mark, the top has a black push on stopper, whats rare is the box that it sits in, the inside has a padded silk covering to protect the bottle and the hinged lid has a chinese inscription that i can’t read but maybe someone can work this out, the outer covering is in a diamond pattern material in blue, red and white and it has a white pin to the side to close the box. When you hold the bottle up its lovely , you can see the light travels through the window that they are sitting in front of on both sides, this is very clever indeed, its breath taking. The quality of the craftsmanship is superb , this would have once belonged to a wealthy gentleman and been used daily in a time when things were so very different, this snuff bottle and box is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel. I have seen many snuff bottles over the years but its rare to find one in its original box, this will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice. Bottle is 8 cm height, the box measures 9. Cm long, just over 5 cm width. The box is overall in fine condition with the normal wear expected as you can see, the bottle is in lovely condition with just a little of the inside of the stopper missing, though still works and has a good seal , that being said it doesnt detract at all from its rare beauty, just mentioned for accuracy.
