Fine Antique Chinese Melon Carved Natural Chrysoprase Necklace With Carved Clasp. This fine 19th Century Chinese necklace features a graduated strand of wonderful, melon-carved natural chrysoprase beads that are eye clean, have very good translucence and are richly saturated with bluish-green, emerald-like color, disk spacers of clustered silver beads and a wonderful silver vermeil clasp that’s hand-engraved on the back, mounted with a carved elephant on top and covered in a lustrous gold wash. The beads are graduated from 12.8 to 9.5-mm (1/2 to 3/8-inches), the clasp measures 17-mm (11/16-inches) in diameter and the necklace is in excellent condition, measures 14 7/8-inches in wearable length and weighs 51.3 grams.
