Chinese figure playing stringed instrument in garden parasol overhead. Opposite side figure holding flowers on garden swing. United by side panel of Chinese garden pagoda and floral. Cover with leaf frame pineapple finial, original fastener below. Atop vine winged leaf centre scroll feet. This 1771 English Chinese tea caddy 6 inches & 9 1/4 (standard) ounces. Hallmarked as shown both cover and base, well struck. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Stands perfectly even on table. The Chinese decoration retains most detail.
