18th CENTURY ANTIQUE SILVER / PEWTER TEA BOX. Estimated circa 1820’s / 1880’s. Box is a highly decorative piece which is in good condition with some wear on bottom – In our family for 3 generations now. Made it’s way from Gibraltar, to French Morocco, to Israel and now the USA. Top Lid is exquisitely carved with a fierce, undulating, open mouth dragon wrapped around 2 Ideograms. Entire background and sides are small carved flowers – Has 3 short flat feet. Box is stamped at bottom with 2 clear square indentation marks. Box is 3 & 1/2 in. Wide by 1 & 1/4 in.
