This antique Chinese repousse box is quite unique: the box is silver plate over copper with a gold wash over that. The result is a very lush looking box. It has a handle on top and comes with a lock, but no key. The box features a ferocious bird on a branch with flowers and more flowers along the sides. There is a Chinese mark on the bottom. The box is lined in newer dark green velvet, which is in excellent condition. The rest of the box is also in very good condition with some minor losses to the gilt wash.
