A stunning high quality Chinese export or China Straits solid silver tobacco box. It is hallmarked a mark to the lid and tests as high grade silver. I would date it to c1890. It has been superbly decorated being embossed to the lid with a dragon with a leaf design to the base. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs.
