A c1875 Chinese export silver playing card box. A rare form in CES. Standing behind his desk as a figure kneels begging for mercy. Two armed guards stand at either side of the desk, as well as attendant. Others wait in line. Tall pine and cypress trees, lush foliage. Sides with soft engraved bamboo on rocky ground. This rare c1875 Chinese export silver playing card case. Is 3 3/4 inches by 2 5/8 inches and 4 3/4 (standard) ounces. Signed for Wang Hing. Lustreous silver patina throughout. Chinese signature on the bottom and most likely Malaysian. Was part of a large dresser set and this is marked number 11. 2″ in height and 3″ in width.
