Wing Nam Chinese Export Silver Gilt Lined Dragon Box c. A lovely example of a Chinese trade silver cylindrical form repousse dresser box. Embellished with repousse dragon designs with a singular writhing dragon with flame motif surrounding the base with another dragon on the lid enhancing the design of this stunning ornamental dressing table piece. The gilt lined interior is in excellent condition and the original push fit cover fits snuggly, ensuring a tight seal. While the retail mark WN for the Hong Kong retailer Wing Nam and the unidentified artisan chop have become slightly worn over the years, they are still evident. The base has some scratching commensurate with use and there is a small dent to the lid (as shown) but otherwise the piece presents in very good antique condition. Or prolonged rectangular form, Antique Chinese Export 900 silver reticulated cricket hinged box by Wing Chun of Hong Kong, pierced frame decorated with flying dragon thru-out clusters of clouds, chasing a fire ball. Solid & relatively thick silver walls. Overall very good condition, small crack to the panel’s front right corner, some scratches, minor pin-pointed spot to lower bottom corner, with front panel facing opposite direction, hinge works properly. Marked: Chinese characters, WC 90. Length 6 1/4 in. Width over 1 1/4 in. Height 1 1/2 in. SOLID SILVER TRINKET BOX. A Chinese silver hexagonal trinket box, the top with dragons surrounding a circular engraved cartouche, the panel sides decorated with dragons, bamboo and cherry blossom. WC 90 plus character mark for Wing Chun of Hong Kong, c1900. The hinge has been broken off and a metal wire has been used to attach the lid which is wobbly and probably not strong enough. A good silversmith would be able to do a much better job of reattaching the lid. Otherwise there is minor surface wear, including scratches to the base but no dents.
