RARE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER FLINT VESTA TINDER BOX c1840 ANTIQUE
A very rare Chinese export silver tinder box. It is hallmarked with the makers mark CU and dates to c1840, it tests as sterling silver. It has been superbly made being embossed with what look to be courtship scenes with a steel striker along its edge and faint internal gilding. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures over 1.5 inches (4.1cms) across by 1.25 inches and weighs 27 grams. A top quality very rare piece.
