Presented is a fabulous set of 4 Chinese export silver napkin rings in the original box. The set is from the mid-1800s, circa 1845 to 1870s. The box is a highly decorated lacquered wood with gilding that displays a genre scene with men standing among trees and a small building. The inside has painted decoration on pith paper and 4 compartments for the napkin rings. The silver napkin rings displays 3 hand-chased genre scenes of men with a deer surrounded by trees. One scene has a small oval cartouche above it with no monograms. This set is in excellent overall condition, especially considering age. The napkin rings have some wear to the high points, especially the faces. The box has some flaking to the paint and a few chips in the wood on the corners. There are no breaks and no repairs. Measurements: Box: 13 inches long, 2 3/4 inches wide, and 2 1/4 inches tall Napkin Rings: 1 3/4 inches in diameter. Total Weight of Napkin Rings: 74.5 grams or 2.6 ounces. Listed this week is an excellent selection of Sterling and Silver Plate from all over the world. There is some very fine Figural pieces plus some fine early examples as well. We are also very proud to be offering one of the finest collections of Glass we have ever handled. There is Lalique, Daum Nancy, Val St Lambert, Baccarat and Tiffany, just to name a few. All the pieces are very fine and would sell well individually, we simply ran out of time and decided to make up some great Estate Treasure Lots. This Lot consists of everything you see in the first photo, the rest of the photos just show the pieces in more detail. The Lot includes the following. An Chinese or Tibetan Solid Silver (tests to be at least 800 Grade) Spice Box which is finely Hand Made and in the form of a Fruit with Leaves, a very nice Chinese Sterling Silver Napkin Ring with great pierced and etched designs throughout, and a very fine unmarked (tests to be at least 800 Grade) Solid Silver Napkin Ring with beautiful Flower designs. All the pieces are in very good to excellent condition as seen. To give an idea of sizes the Spice Box measures 5 inches long and the Napkin Rings measure approx 2 inches across by 1-1/4 inches thick. The Lot has a nice combined weight of 163 grams.
