Offered is a marvelous antique 1850s American silver and enamel cigarette case depicting in very fine details the portrait of a beautiful young lady with a classical bonnet on her head. The Gorham Manufacturing Company. Is one of the largest Amercian. Manufacturers of sterling and silver-plate. It was founded in Providence, Rhode Island in the year of 1831 by Jabez Gorham, a master craftsman in partnership with Henry L. The firm products were silver spoons of coin silver, combs, jewelry, thimbles, and later larger sterling and silver-plate. This charming American antique silver and enamel cigarette case features the 935 silver purity hallmark visible in the interior. This fine Gorham cigarette case is indeed one-of-a-kind and a great addition to any significant connoisseurs antique cigarette case collection.
