An unusual antique silver box with pierced lid, commonly used as a pomander or cricket cage, today theyre more useful as a trinket box. The base with engraved mother of pearl panel. Very beautiful creation with decoration of embossed flowers overlaid. Lots of detail, opens and closes with ease. All hand made, hand chased. Solid silver not plated. High quality silver (acid tested). Date – Nineteenth century. Condition: Good; in need of a good clean and polish. The mother o’ pearl panel has two tiny faults in front of the building.
