A rare c1875 Chinese export silver fold open cigarette case. A design we have not observed in other CES cigarette boxes. Signed for Kwan Wo. Cover with Chinese figures preparing meal, mother seated in garden watching. Children play, figure enters dwelling as maiden watch from window, all amidst. Lush tree and garden on stippled background. Opposite side with bamboo grove on stippled ground. Interior retains hint original gold and also retains both expandable. In very fine condition. Rich silver patina, closes firmly. Each of the figures even retain most of their facial detail. The rare Chinese export silver fold open cigarette. Box is 3 1/2 inches and 3 standard ounces.
